Literacy and leveled reading schemes

Group readers / guided readers:

(4 titles x 5 reading levels x 8 copies each) -- e.g., 12 levels (at least one level overlap between grades) x 4 titles with 8 copies each) -- i.e., 48 titles total -- so suggest 60 titles

Criteria:

• high interest
• good for discussion
• balance of genres

Look at the suggested list so far....  Books in uwc_novelsets with a tag of "guided_reading"

Class sets of novels: 

(4 titles x 22 copies x four grade levels (2, 3, 4 & 5) -- i.e., 16 titles total -- so suggest 20 titles

Criteria: 

• not to be missed
• capable of deep analysis
• high interest
• quality, but accessible with teacher intervention
• balance across topic/genre
